I wonder, whether do still people use Kaspersky Antivirus? I believe, that nowadays, everyone uses Avast. Will you agree with this fact?
Yes, people still use Kasperski and I believe part of the engine in Kasperski is used in other anti-virus programs.
There are many such programs now and the differences are small and may well be suitable for most people.
Some have particular aspects which may make them more suitable for your particular needs.
My advice is to research thoroughly when you are about to buy an antivirus.
Would you say that you need Kaspersky at all if you have a Mac? Aren’t they known for being far less susceptible to viruses and the like? Also, your article mentions that there is a lot of fake news on the internet. I would argue that no antivirus technology is going to be able to deter that, unfortunately. I would love to see you compare Kaspersky with the other big contenders, such as Norton and Panda.

I am not a Mac expert. The prime reason for Macs being “safer” than Windows based devices is that there are so fewer Macs in use than Windows based.
I know there is a reputation for Macs being safer but I also know hackers have targeted Mac systems from time to time.
What kind of email do you use and are your emails scanned before you open them?
I think there will soon be apps available to sniff out some kinds of fake news. Should be interesting to see, though.
The problem with every comparison between 2 or more security systems is that:
1. No two systems are directly comparable.
2. It is impossible to asses the effectiveness of an antivirus program without attacking it with a variety of known viruses. This does give some degree of comparison but the real threats come from the new attacks.
That is difficult to asses, since the attack is based on new code or new strategies. If I could predict that, I would be employing someone else to write this response and sleeping on my private yacht.
It is very similar to investing in shares in a company: past performance does not guarantee future performance.
We can only go by customers (users) responses and an intelligent 3rd party analysis.

I have used a few different anti virus programs and a few of them were just slowing down my computer way too much, so they got the boot very quickly.
I have used Kapersky before and it was fairly easy to use and didn’t slow my computer down. Currently I’m using a different anti virus which came with the purchase of a new computer, but once the free subscription expires, I might change back to Kapersky.

It is quite common for new computers to come with a free trial of an antivirus. They often only last 4 or 8 weeks before they will ask you to pay for an upgrade.
This is quite usual although it can be quite irritating if you are not aware of it from the beginning.
Kaspersky is definitely one of the better ones although I personally have used ESET on my main PC for years.
I* would always go for a complete internet security package because there are so many ways a system can be attacked, including through emails. This is covered in most Internet security packages, which will include the antivirus as well as other protections.
